direction and recommendation of your physician, is able to
come to your home and provide the vital health support care
services necessary to help with patient recovery and
rehabilitation.
What is home health care?
It's skilled nursing care, therapies, and other health-care
services provided in your own home which allows you to
recuperate in the comfort of your own home, leaving more
expensive hospital beds for acutely ill patients.
Why is home care important?
Advantages of home care include:
- Privacy--personal care in your own home
- Convenience--no transportation problems,
less disruption of schedules
- Comfort--"there's no place like home"
- Shorter recovery time--in general, people
recover more quickly at home rather than in a
hospital environment.
- Lower cost--often much lower than care in
a hospital or long-term care facility (about 1/3
the cost of hospitals or nursing homes).
